BeBio® System: selected as a finalist in the prestigious Best Packaging 2022 competition

BeBio® System is the Italian packaging solution for the fresh food sector, composed of an innovative film top made of biopolymer coated paper
and a biopolymer-coated card tub. It is safe for all types of food and avoids the use of a conventional polymer top.
The top, designed to be heat-sealed to the tub, forms an effective barrier against fat and the humidity of the contents. The tub and the film have undergone testing for heating food in conventional ovens and the microwave, as well as keeping it in the refrigerator or freezer.

Innovation: a development of conventional packaging solutions which promotes a circular economy by offering the option of a dual end-of-life and clear
information to the end user on its use, disposal and sustainability.

Raw materials: FSC® certified cellulose and compostable biopolymer, both from renewable sources.

Sustainability: compostable (OK COMPOST INDUSTRIAL certification) and recyclable as paper (UNI 11743:2019 and the Aticelca® Assessment System).

Digital: the film top – an innovation feature of the BeBio® SYSTEM – is marked with an interactive QR CODE to inform the user about the packaging’s sustainability features, and can also be made of semi-transparent paper to display the contents.
