The entry into force of the new European Packaging Regulation (PPWR), scheduled for August 2026, introduces\u2014as is always the case with new regulations\u2014urgent obligations and responsibilities. Davide Faietti<\/b><\/span>, President of CCM, along with Cristian Maretti<\/b><\/span>, President of Legacoop Agroalimentare, and Francesca Montalti<\/b><\/span>, Head of the Industrial Sector at Legacoop Production and Services, kicked off a full day of dialogue, in-depth discussion, and exchange. The proceedings opened with a presentation by Luciano Villani<\/b><\/span>, Packaging Manager at Coop Italia, who outlined the main regulatory provisions of the new Regulation and the roadmap prepared by Coop Italia to address its implications.<\/p>\n This was followed by concrete experiences and case studies:<\/p>\n Francesca Sancinelli<\/b><\/span> (President of Breplast SpA and CEO of Montello SpA) provided the recyclers\u2019 perspective on recyclable packaging.<\/p>\n Alberto Castellanza<\/b><\/span> (Director of Markets and Product Development at Novamont) highlighted the regulation\u2019s impact on biodegradable packaging.<\/p>\n Lorenzo Soriani<\/b><\/span> (Sales Manager at CPR System) shared his experience with reusable packaging.<\/p>\n The Q&A session allowed for diverse viewpoints and reflections, immediately followed by the presentation of the \u201cAgri-food Supply Chains\u201d<\/b><\/span> project by Francesco Cipolleschi<\/b><\/span> of SCS Consulting, which focused on the added value of inter-cooperative collaboration and the prospects it opens.<\/p>\n The day concluded with a collaborative lab focused on the joint development of new products, services, and circular business models within the cooperative packaging supply chain. \nReady to face this challenge, on September 18 we hosted the workshop “The New European Packaging Regulation: the Legacoop Cooperative Supply Chain for Sustainable (and Shared) Innovation”<\/b><\/span> at our headquarters.
\nThe event was promoted by Legacoop Agroalimentare, Legacoop Production and Services, and Coop Italia, in collaboration with CCM.<\/p>\n
\nThe event aimed to explore obligations, restrictions, and prohibitions, as well as opportunities for product innovation and the development of new cooperative models capable of ensuring greater circularity and sustainability throughout the entire packaging life cycle.<\/p>\n
\nThis final session not only gathered ideas and proposals, but also outlined possible paths for shared future work.<\/p>\n
\nThe meeting confirmed the importance of a joint approach in facing the challenges of the new European Packaging Regulation and laid the groundwork for moving forward together toward truly sustainable and cooperative innovation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
